A Passion for Nature! A Love for the Outdoors! A Strive to Explore, share experiences and laugh together! This is what unites us – the Pangaea Project.
We are around one hundred young adults from all over the world, though mostly Germany and Switzerland. Through a shared appreciation for the outdoors and a commitment to environmental conservation efforts we have bonded and challenged each other. We believe that an emotional experience in and with nature is unique, pushes limits, is helpful for personality development and thus creates meaningful environmental awareness. Emotionally bonded to the environment people care for it increasingly and act for its well-being.
The Pangaea Project is the follow up association of the Pangaea Young Explorers Program of renown explorer Mike Horn. Many of us have participated in one of twelve expeditions to the globe’s most remote places between 2008-12 and learned this way to see nature and oneself differently.
“Because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.” (Steve Jobs)
Amongst others we have initiated and executed environmental projects in schools and organized adventurous Ecocamps to re-connect to our natural environment. Moreover, we mission to provide a better social standard and to help less fortunate kids see new places by taking them into nature. Lastly, the Pangaea Project serves as an important network and assists its members in implementing their own projects, be it building a recycled raft or providing bicycles to less fortunate children.
Our Vision
We intend to show people the beauty of nature.
We desire to tackle local environmental problems.
We want to help people who are less fortunate than us.
We assist intercultural exchange between youths.
We are unconventional, think outside the common framework and put ideas into reality.
Step by step, we want to make the world a more livable and enjoyable place.
