This week we had to finish everything. From the food garden, to the murals to to the playground…

And we did!

During the breaks the kids were already using the jungle gym and they enjoy it a lot.

The food garden is finished it looks great and if everything goes well soon the first vegetables can be harvested.

The former blank walls are now colourful sending messages to everyone that passes them.

The classrooms are decorated with posters, that the children painted the previous week.

We also handed out all the stationary that we got donated, which was over 1000 small “ruler cases”, and a toothbrush and a toothpaste for all the 1-… graders, of which they promised us that they will make us of.

We also took two other 7th grader classes  to the sand dunes and they enjoyed it as much as the other one did. Jumping in the water, running around and learning about the environment.

Another big trip was to Sea …. All the 1-4 graders joined us and for most of them it was the first time to see a lion. They got really excited and still talked about it when we left.

On Thursday night we were kindly invited to have dinner with the whole teacher body. We all enjoyed the evening and some of us showed their real dancing talent.

A successful project came to an end. When we arrived at the school on Friday morning we had a good bye ceremony. Speaking in behalf of all the Young Explorers I can say that we had a great time in Port Elizabeth. We worked hard to get everything done on time but we were also having fun with the kids.

All in all we can be proud of what we’ve achieved in the past three weeks. This was only possible because we, the school and the PE team efficiently worked together!
